JEWELRY TRENDS OF 2016
At J. F. Kruse, we pride ourselves in having a huge selection of the latest jewelry. From tried-and-true pieces that never go out of style to the latest trends straight off the runway, we’ve got a little bit of everything. 2016 brings with it a myriad of new trends in jewelry. Check out some of the most prominent jewelry trends you’re likely to see this year:
STATEMENT EARRINGS
Dust off your shoulders with giant statement earrings. Runway styles include pearls, gothic patterns and chunky colors of all kinds. Mismatch statement earrings, either by alternating your lobes (long on one side, short on the other) or wearing mismatched earrings to create your own signature look.
CHOKERS
What else would you pair with long earrings but short necklaces! Short and simple, chokers are making a comeback this year. Chose a simple band or chain with a small jewel or pendant to accent large earrings or hair accessories. This look follows the old saying, less is more.
LONG, CHUNKY CHAINS
Although chokers are making a comeback, length is not forgotten. Statement jewelry is very much still in fashion, but this year chose a long, industrial-style chain in place of eye-catching color.
BANGLES
Whether you like to layer them or wear them on their own, bangles are a hot item this year. Pair them with shoulder-dusting earrings or a dazzling hair piece to create an elegant look with minimal effort.
INDUSTRIAL DESIGN
More than just nuts and bolts, this trend has already taken the design world by storm in the form of interior design. Expand your selections with a touch of victorian steampunk in this year’s most unique trend.
BOLD GOLD
Classic meets contemporary in 2016 with bold gold accent pieces. In past years, jewelry design has shifted more toward sterling silver, pewter, and titanium - not this year. Gold is making its triumphant return into the fashion world in sparkling style.
Tiaras
Tiaras; every little girl who loved to play dress up no doubt had one- though it was usually plastic and covered in stickers. This trend is a little different. Headbands with pendants, clip-in hair jewelry, and yes, even tiaras are in this year. Dress-up a simple bun or decorate an elaborate updo with some hair bling.
