Current Wedding Ring Trends For 2015
As we make our way through 2015, there are definitely some wedding ring trends emerging. Some are new, some are old, but all are important nonetheless. A wedding ring is a timeless piece of jewelry that lasts a lifetime. Ensuring it’s something that you want to wear every day for the rest of your life is important as well as staying on trend (for some).
Top Eight Wedding Ring Trends
1. Colored Stones
Colored stones are becoming a popular non-traditional choice when it comes to wedding rings. Unique-colored diamonds or gemstones give a wedding ring a unique touch that is personalized and meaningful to the bride-to-be.
2. Stacking Bands
Gone are the days of a single band. Stacking bands, whether they match or don’t match, are a popular trend this year, and we foresee it to stay on trend in the years to come. In the past, many brides have a single matching band or have chosen to forego a wedding band altogether. This year the wedding band is in – and multiples of them.
3. Intricate Shapes
Traditional wedding rings feature diamonds with classic cuts like round, oval, and square. This year we are seeing more interesting shapes. Some cuts that are becoming more popular are pear, emerald, or cushion. Fancy cuts give a wedding ring some edge and differentiates it from other rings.
4. Halo (and Double Halo)
Halo has been on-trend for years, and it is still a hit in 2015. Something different this year, however, is the double halo. It’s a halo ring with two tiers. The result? Sparkle that will last forever.
5. Diamond Clusters
Typically wedding rings have one diamond that is the highlight of the ring – the bigger the diamond the better for most. With diamond cluster rings, it is all about small diamonds grouped together. This style replicates the same shine and sparkle of a “normal” diamond with a touch of chicness and flare.
6. Polished Band
In past years, the trend for wedding rings has been to have a diamond band. Whether it was partially diamonds or full diamonds – making sure there were diamonds on the band was important. Now? Not so much. In 2015, we are seeing less emphasis on diamond bands and more emphasis on simple polished bands. Simple is stylish in 2015.
7. Eternity Band
A new trend in the bridal world is the eternity band as a wedding ring. Typically used to celebrate anniversaries or special occasions, eternity bands are now a hot item for future brides. This trend coincides with the stacking bands trend in that many brides are having a more intricate eternity band stacked with smaller, simpler stackable bands.
8. Custom Rings
When it comes to wedding rings, nothing beats a custom ring. Why? Because it is literally a one-of-a-kind ring that you and only you will ever have. With custom wedding rings, you can pick and choose what your dream ring looks like and will be. If you love different details on different rings, the custom route may be the best option for you.
I hope these eight trends inspire you and help you find the wedding ring of your dreams. And keep in mind – finding a ring should not be rushed, take your time and truly find something you will love until death do you part.
