Code for diamond certification
When you start shopping for diamonds, you’ll discover that many diamonds are accompanied by a certificate or report that verifies the weight, dimensions, and grading of a diamond. These certificates provide a third party expert analysis of the diamond you are considering. At J. F. Kruse Jewelers, we proudly feature independent diamond grading reports from various reputable laboratories, including the Gemological Institute of America and the American Gem Society.
Of all of the diamond information in existence, the most important advice to remember is this: not all diamond grading reports are created equal. Many reports in the industry are very inaccurate and give a diamond a better cut, color, or clarity grade than it actually possesses. Some jewelers even create their own diamond certification reports and present them as independent certifications, allowing them to grade their own diamonds as they see fit. This unfortunate practice is called “sweet grading” in the industry. Sweet grading gives the illusion that a diamond is an exceptional value. In reality, if graded accurately, such diamonds are an extremely poor purchase. In order to avoid this mistake, be certain that your diamond is certified through an independent organization that guarantees the cut, color, clarity, and carat weight of your diamond, such as the Gemological Institute of America and the American Gem Society.
Much like any significant purchase, the most important decision you can make is to work with a jeweler you trust. At J. F. Kruse Jewelers, we work extremely hard to earn your trust through honesty, accessibility, and transparency. To us, nothing is more important than exceeding the expectations of each person that walks through our door and making sure that each customer is delighted and fulfilled. No jeweler will work harder to earn your trust and to ensure that your diamond is both accurately graded and an exceptional value.
J.F. Kruse Jewelers is a proud member of the (AGS) American Gem Society.
